Birdie Bros is seeking a creative and talented Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will work closely with our Executive Chef to oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including food preparation, menu development, and kitchen staff management. We are looking for an innovative and detail-oriented culinary professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards.
  • Kitchen Management: Supervise and lead kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations, cleanliness, and adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create and refine menu items, utilizing creativity and a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients.
  • Quality Control: Maintain consistent food quality, taste, and presentation to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Inventory and Ordering: Manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and assist in ordering supplies to minimize waste and maximize cost-efficiency.
  • Training: Train and develop kitchen staff, instilling a culture of teamwork and excellence in the kitchen.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure kitchen operations are in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Strong culinary skills and creativity, with a passion for innovative cuisine.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of food cost control and inventory management.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
